Required Wheel Horsepower
For a fixed car/track setup, 1/8-mile ET scales roughly with power as
ET ∝ HP−1/3. So the HP required to move from your current ET to a faster target ET is:
HPreq = HPnow × (ETnow / ETtarget)³.
Notes: This assumes weight, traction, gearing, converter, etc. are unchanged.
Real-world results vary with launch, weather/DA, tire, and driver skill.
